Phoenix Haboob

We had a crazy huge dust storm here in Phoenix Thursday night, and I found myself lured to the eerie-ness. It just seemed like the perfect opportunity to shoot a horror film or crime thriller. Okay okay, maybe I was a little inspired by the episode of Criminal Minds I was watching just as it hit…

Happy 4th of July!!

Last thursday my little brother Tony shipped out to boot camp, so this Independence Day is particularly special for me. I am so proud of our service men and women! We started the celebrations off right with our family and BBQ. Then, my other brother Alfi joined us in finishing it off with friends, ice cream, and this great view of all the fireworks in the city atop Papago mountain.

A Day at the Park

It was a sunny beautiful day Friday, so we decided to run around a bit. When we got to the park it was completely empty, we had the whole place to ourselves. So, John and Gaius got to playing and quickly wore themselves out!

Hiking Fossil Springs

The semester is finally over, so we headed toward Sedona for a breath of fresh air! This is where we are going. The trail climbs down these bluffs to a freshwater spring. This guy seemed to be following us down, a little fishy if you ask me… We’re getting closer… Ahhh…

A picture and a letter

We were also supposed to choose and follow a theme, and this is what we came up with. The general idea is that the objects photographed tell the user how to interact with them. Anything from a fire alarm telling the user how to react in an emergency, to a building sign letting a user …

[Back-dated] San Francisco

We took a belated Honeymoon last month, and drove out to San Francisco. Thanks to John’s parents we got to stay in the beautiful Fairmont Hotel on top of Nobb Hill. This was the view just out front of the hotel: Parking was pretty insane though. We got a steal for $30/weekend at the garage down the street. It was going to be $50/day at the hotel. The subway was actually pretty easy to navigate, and fun for us tourists 😉 Oh yeah, and this was the view from our room 😉

[Back-dated] The Grand Canyon

The last time I was at the grand canyon I was in the 6th grade. I remember it being mounumentally huge and awe-inspiring. It was a particularly special trip for me because it was just me and my dad (anyone else with siblings will understand how great those moments are). This time, John and I wanted an atypical experience of our state’s claim to fame. So, we decided to visit in January; during a snow storm. The first day when we arrived AZ gave us a typical clear blue sky. At least there was snow on the ground… John decided …
