Boston City Lights

Every Thursday I ride the T from North Station in downtown Boston, to Porter Square. The red line that takes me there pulls above ground as it crosses Longfellow bridge, and opens up this gorgeous view of the city. And every Thursday, I think to myself “I have to shoot that!” So finally, I did. I wanted to give you and idea of the impressiveness of the skyline, but I’ll get to that in a bit. First, the red line crossing the Longfellow bridge:

Did I mention that it was incredibly cold as I stood on the bank waiting for this train to show up?

On my other side I had a great view of one of Boston’s most iconic features, the Zakim Bridge (it’s the same one you saw in the featured image). That little streak in the sky is a plane taking off over the city!

And finally, without further adieu, the beautiful city I see through the tiny MBTA window every weekday:
